Round 1 - Comp Plan Update - Cut-off for Input 1st Draft - November 9, 2018

Round 1 Meetings

SCHEDULE FOR COMP PLAN UPDATE

Meetings 1 and 2 are designed as listening and public input sessions. Meetings will start
with a brief staff presentation and then we will listen and receive public input. All meetings
are drop-in in nature so if you can only come by for 15-minutes please do.


Round 1 - Listening and Public Input Meetings – Council Chambers – The purpose is to share the current
text, strategies, and objectives in the existing Comp Plan. We will hear what the reviewing committees have
recommended be added, deleted, or amended. We will solicit comments, ideas, and suggestions from the
public. The existing chapters will be posted online in advance and we will accept email input.
October 9 – 11:30 – 2:30 - Transportation
October 10 – 11:30 – 2:30 – Housing
October 17 – 11:30 – 2:30 – Natural Resources
October 18 – 11:30 – 2:30 – Cultural Resources
October 23 – 11:30 – 2:30 – Community Facilities
October 24 – 11:30 – 2:30 – Economic Development
October 30 – 11:30 – 2:30 – Town and Gown
November 7 – 11:30 – 2:30 – Land Use
November 9 – Cut-off date for email and other input for first round of update
November 9 – January 1 – Staff will use the public input and rewrite text and add goals, objectives, and
strategies. Population and Priority Investment elements will be sent to consultant.


Round 2 – Listening and Public Input Meetings – Council Chambers – A draft of the revised text and
objectives and strategies for each element along with ideas and comments from Round 1 will be made
available two weeks prior to this meeting. This meeting will be used to discuss and revise the initial draft.

January 23 – 5:00 – 8:00 – Natural Resources
January 24 – 5:00 – 8:00 – Cultural Resources
February 12 – 5:00 – 8:00 – Community Facilities

February 21 – 5:00 – 8:00 – Economic Development
February 22 - Cut-off date for email and other input for final draft of update
February 22 – March 5 – Staff will develop another draft of each element based on public input


Round 3 Meetings – Initial draft of the Comp Plan Mid-term Review - Council Chambers – The initial draft
of the Comp Plan Mid-term review incorporating public input, comments, and ideas from Rounds 1 and 2
along with the revised text and objectives and strategies of each element will be made available at least two
weeks prior to this meeting. This meeting will be used to discuss and receive comments on the draft
document.
March 19 – 5:00 – 8:00 – Transportation

March 21 – 11:30 – 2:30 – Natural Resources
March 26 – 11:30 – 2:30 – Cultural Resources
March 27 – 11:30 – 2:30 – Community Facilities

April 4 – 11:30 – 2:30 – Economic Development
April 30 – Cut-off date for input on final written draft of document
April 30 – May 23 – Staff drafts final version of document.
May 23 – Latest/final version posted on line – Including Population and Priority Investment elements


Round 4 Meetings - Updated Draft of the Comp Plan Mid-term review – Council Chambers – These
will be drop-in sessions during which citizens can make any final comments or proposed edits to the draft
which results from all of the previous input. There will be concurrent meetings hosted by various staff
allowing citizens to comment on more than one aspect of the Comp Plan on one visit.
