Seamon-Whiteside & Associates, Inc. of Greenville, South Carolina are providing the preliminary planning design for streetscape improvements for the Old Calhoun District of the City of Clemson.
In November 2014, Clemson officials and architects from Seamon-Whiteside lead Calhoun residents on a walking tour of the historic area that is scheduled for improvements in 2015.
On December 4, 2014 a planning meeting was held in the Community Room at City Hall for a presentation of initial design concepts by Seamon-Whiteside and to receive input from interested residents.

Subject: April 2, 2015 Streetscape Planning Meeting
The City of Clemson and the design team at Seamon Whiteside and Associates have assimilated all the feedback we received at the December 4, 2014 planning meeting and have scheduled a meeting to present the proposed streetscape concept. The meeting is scheduled for Thursday, April 2, 2015 and will take place at the Clemson City Hall Community Room located at 1250 Tiger Blvd. Clemson, SC 29631. The meeting will start at 6:00 p.m.
Future streetscape information will be posted to the City’s web site including site images, meeting minutes and preliminary drawings. BERKELEY DRIVE PEDESTRIAN BRIDGE PROJECT
The City of Clemson continues to work on our plans for roadway and pedestrian improvements along Berkeley Drive extending from the intersection of Frontage Road south of US 123 to the Clemson Elementary School drive opposite of Karen Drive to the north of US 123. The proposed improvements include the construction of a multiple-use path along the east side of Berkeley Drive and a new pedestrian bridge over US 123.
The City contracted with Florence and Hutcheson to perform engineering services for the project. Florence and Hutcheson has the finished design of the project and conducted several Public Information Meetings along the way. The estimated cost is $1.16M. Actual construction dates will depend on funding.
